The idea behind my concentration is the purity within a child’s mind in opposition of the cruel and destructive outside world trying to corrupt the child. A child is the opposite of what the world is- pure, while the world is a cold and ruthless place, and my goal throughout these works is to portray not only the untainted form of a child’s mind, but ways that society tries to destroy this state and turn the child into an evil product of the environment

My exploration started with a mom and child first laying eyes on each other. This being the one and only time the child is among their purest state due it not being exposed to the world yet. With the mother cherishing the baby in those moments without thinking of the outside world influence, but as the child grows the mom can start to let the outside influence how they let their child grow. Bring their thoughts into the child's head, just like pageant children. The child grows up in that culture thinking of only their appearance at a young age. Letting the world influence the development of the child. While the adult thinks the world is perfect around the child  doesn’t consider the outside blackness closing in on the child’s mind, because sooner or later the child will no longer have the little bit of pure left them to appreciate the simple things in life.  Throughout my concentration I tried to find the moments where a child seems to be free and not aware of the world around them.
